Jiu jitsu Collective Rule Book

1. Fingernails and toenails must be trimmed short.
2. Long hair must be securely tied to prevent interference during matches.
3. Dyed hair must not stain or leave residue; staining will result in disqualification.
4. Uniforms must be clean, dry, and free of stains; unpleasant odors may lead to disqualification.
5. Competitors may wear neoprene braces but not those made of hard materials like metal or plastic; bandages must be secured with elastic straps.
6. Competitors must not wear items that could cause injury, including:
– No cups allowed
– No jewelry (rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.)
– No piercings (face, body, tongue, etc.)
– Gauged ears and other body modifications must be covered or secured with medical tape.
7. Competitors must ensure their skin, hair, and uniform are free of slippery or sticky substances; attempts to bypass this rule will result in disqualification

  • 2 Points- Takedown, Sweep, Knee on belly
  • 3 Points- Passing the guard
  • 4 Points- Full mount, Full back mount
  • K-4th Grade- 3 Minutes
  • 5th-8th- 4 Minutes
  • 15-17 Teens- 4 Minutes
  • Adults- 5 Minutes
  • Adult Black Belt- 6 Minutes
  • Competitors weigh in only once, regardless of participating in Gi or No-Gi divisions.
  • Gi competitors must weigh in wearing their Gi.
  •  A one-pound allowance is granted at weigh-in.
  • Competitors must complete weigh-in at least 60 minutes before their scheduled match start time
  • Competitors may wear Gis of any color.
  •  Rash guards can be worn underneath the Gi.
  •  Shirtless competition is not permitted in No-Gi divisions; competitors must wear a rash guard.
  •  Any color rash guard is permissible.
